Privé Chef is honoured to introduce the esteemed Chef Jeffrey Tan as our advisory Chef de Honour. Originally from Malaysia, Chef Jeffrey Tan migrated to Australia during the 1980s, where he has built a truly formidable career over the decades.
From humble beginnings, Chef Jeffrey Tan’s rise in the culinary world was swift and great, in large part due to his undeniable passion for food and natural skill at the art of cooking.
Chef Jeffrey Tan has been invited to be the Chef de Cuisine at numerous distinguished events all over the world, serving a host of notable figures such as the President of Indonesia and members of the Malaysian Royal family. He is also one of the few non- professionally trained chefs to have been inducted as an Executive chef member of the prestigious international culinary association, Les Toques Blanches, and Australian Culinary Federation. He has been featured at the Compagnie Mousquetaires D’Armagnac Escadron De Malaisie, Billanock Wine and Food Society, as well as the Doncaster Fine Foods Society.
Chef Jeffrey Tan started his Cooking For Charity Initiative in 1996 and has raised and helped to raise over A$4.9million for various charities including the Australian Rotary Foundation Trust, Prostate Cancer of Victoria, Opportunity International Australia, Variety Club of Victoria, Spastic Children Centre of Malaysia, Bank of Melbourne Neighbourhood Foundation, AFL500 Supporters Club, OTIS Foundation, Alzheimer Australia, Tibetan Disaster Relief Fund and the Australian Bushfire Relief Appeal.
Chef Jeffrey Tan’s passion and commitment towards charitable projects through his culinary art has awarded him with received numerous accolades over the decade. His significant achievements led to his most distinguished award in 2018, where he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, the Queen of Australia.
