Ven migrated with his family to Melbourne in May 2017 and founded OMI in Nov 2017.
The first OMI is located at Chadstone Shopping Center, the largest Shopping Mall in Southern Hemisphere and Australia. 11 OMI outlets were opened within 5 years. OMI expand to Canberra in 2022 and will expand to other cities in Australia in 2023.
Ven started Local Hero Singapore in Dec 2020. Local Hero Singapore expands to 5 outlets within 2 years of operation.
Ven has more than 15years of experience in finance, consulting and F&B. He holds a Master of Business Administration (Distinction) from the Manchester Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Actuarial Studies from the University of Melbourne.
Prior to founding OMI Group, Ven founded GD Group, an award-winning restaurant chain in Singapore. Under Ven Chin’s management, GD Group has grown to 7 restaurants with Turnover of SGD15 Million under the brand of Gurney Drive, Penang Culture, Penang St Buffet & Mamak Culture in a span of 6 years.
